Carolyn Twede Frank grew up in Payson, Utah. Ever since elementary school she has loved to write. In junior high and high school she was on the newspaper staff. and had her own column: Carolyn’s Corner. After marrying, raising five kids, and growing her manufacturing business to a point it was viable to sell, Carolyn rediscovered her love of writing. Carolyn now lives in Kaysville, Utah and writes Young adult /Middle grade historical and speculative fiction.

Carolyn is author of The Big Debate, the first book in the Literary Loom series.

Episode 130 – Interview with A.L. Sowards

A.L. Sowards was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up in Moses Lake, Washington. As a child, she wrote self-illustrated storybooks at her grandparent’s house and attended her first writer’s conference when she was in third grade.

Now a busy mom of twin toddlers she still loves to read and write. She is the author of Espionage, and her latest is Sworn Enemy published by Covenant Communications.

Episode 119 – Interview with Christy Monson

Christy grew up around her grandmother who loved to read her stories. From an early age she would become engaged and captivated when listening to the tales spin out before her. Later in life, when reading to children of her own, she continued to keep the magic alive. Christy continues to this day writing stories for young children. Her writings feature stories about the pioneer prophets with insights into their lives, cooking, as well as children’s books about how to cope with the tragedies and challenges that happen in life.

Christy has published articles in The Ensign, Friend, and other children’s periodicals. Christy Monson received a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from UNLV and established a successful counseling practice. She and her husband are now retired and living in Ogden, UT.

Episode 115 – Interview with Angie Lofthouse

Angie Lofthouse went to college with every intention of becoming a particle physicist, but through a series of misadventures, found herself studying Shakespeare instead. After college she combined her love of science and her love of words into a science fiction writing career.

 

Her short stories have appeared in such publications as NFG, AlienSkin, Amazing Journeys, The Sword Review, Dragons, Knights and Angels, Irreantum, and Unparalleled Journeys. Her sci-fi adventure novel, Defenders of the Covenant, was released in 2012.

 

Today, she lives in a little canyon in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains with her family of writers, artists, singers, composers, illustrators and musicians.

Vickie Hall is a native of Utah but has also lived in Montana, Nebraska, Idaho and Colorado. She loves to go camping with her family, enjoys travel and has a great love of history. Vickie is also a musician and composer, Vickie has been writing music since she was 13 years old. Her music has been recorded by the Westminster College Women’s Choir as well as a few LDS artists.
