Emily Bates grew up in Northern California, where she spent much of her young life happily closeted away with a book. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in German Linguistics, married a dashing young man from her study abroad in Germany, and now writes novels in English. Lauren Skidmore grew up in Kansas, with stints in Ohio and New York, and currently lives in Utah. She attended Brigham Young University where she earned a BA in English Teaching with an emphasis in Teaching English as a Second Language and Japanese. She then spent a year in Japan teaching and traveling. She hasn’t made it to Europe yet, but it’s on the list and has been to 30 states in the U.S. so far. Michael Bast Interview – Episode 2.8

Unlike Mowgli from the Jungle Book, MICHAEL BAST was not raised by a den of wolves… it was a mob of meerkats. This has proven to be both problematic and beneficial later in life. A problem because he has an insatiable desire to tunnel in his backyard, costing him thousands of dollars in sprinkler repair. A benefit because he can scratch behind both ears with either foot.

McKenzie Wagner Interview – Episode 159

Mckenzie Wagner is twelve years of age and has adored reading since she was four years old. McKenzie is a bright, well-spoken, and vivacious young woman, who is not merely a talented author, but is well-rounded and multi-faceted, with interests in the theater and singing in addition to her love of writing. Her goal is to receive a degree in English and become a teacher, in addition to continuing to produce engaging works of fiction. She is already working to obtain college credits towards her degree.

 

She currently resides in Utah, with her mom, dad, and her seven-year-old brother, Ty. McKenzie’s first book at the early age seven and is part of “The Magic Wall Series”, that book is entitled, “The Magic Meadow and the Golden Locket.” Her second book “The Blue Lagoon and the Magic Coin” was written shortly thereafter. She is here today to talk about the release of her latest book, 2nd book in her Benotripia series entitled “The Stones of Horsh.”

Robert Goble Interview – Episode 139

Robert is a karate teacher, and family man.

Episode 124 – Interview with Theresa Sneed

Theresa Sneed grew up in the woodlands of Maine, where she spent most of her time climbing trees and looking for snakes under rocks. Theresa has a wealth of childhood experiences and a lively imagination from which she draws upon to create her magical stories. As a mother of six, a grandmother of five, and an elementary school teacher, she enjoys weaving stories of fantasy and adventure that bring about moments of wonder and reflection.

 

Theresa graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s of arts in education and has written award-winning poetry and stories. Her first novel, No Angel, is a 2011 Whitney Award finalist, and her 2012 book, Earthbound, is a 2012 Whitney Finalist. She is the former executive president of American Night Writers Association (or ANWA), and she is currently president of Maine Characters, a local chapter of ANWA. She enjoys reading and writing fantasy, romance, and suspense.

Episode 116 – Interview with Fiauna Lund

Fiauna Lund is a grown woman with an overactive imagination, a passion for writing, four children, and the dirty house to prove it. Reading and writing have always been passions for Fiauna. During her childhood she spent hours exploring the woods of rural western Pennsylvania where she first began creating stories about faeries, pixies, magic, and mystical creatures.

She met her husband, Aaron, while attending Utah State University, and later earned a degree in human services from Columbia College which allowed her to study the uniquely challenged and inspiring people who serve as her collective muse. She now resides in Farmington, Utah. When she’s not reading, writing, or running, she spends her time caring for her four adorable children and one rambunctious dog. Fiauna is the author of the Sprightling Diaries series.
