Amanda Sowards Interview – Episode 3.18

A.L. Sowards was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up in Moses Lake, Washington. As a child, she wrote self-illustrated storybooks at her grandparent’s house and attended her first writer’s conference when she was in third grade.

She was a previous guest on The Good Word, back in our first year of production, almost two years ago now. She was nominated for a Whitney Award with the book she was promoting at that time and is nominated again this year for her book, Deadly Alliance. Welcome back. AL. Sowards.

Gwen McGarry Interview – Episode 146

Gwen Anderson Jacobson McGarry was born and raised in central Utah. Gwen was active in community affairs and was the first woman elected to the Ephraim City Council where she served 12 years.  She was a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician and rode the ambulance for 12 years, co-coordinated and taught the EMT Courses for 7 years and served on the Board of Trustees for 12 years at Snow College. Gwen has written three published works,” A History of the Bank of Ephraim,”  a short story of her pioneer great-grand parents entitled, “Another New Day “and her latest book, “I Am Coming Home.” She lives in Ephraim, Utah, where she writes family histories, and enjoys visits from children, grand-children and great-grand-children.
